Red abalone, what do they eat when they are juvenile?

Red abalone enjoys many food items in its diet, but generally during the post-larval settlement stage abalone eat encrusted coralline algae and bacteria until around 5 cm (2”) long! Then they introduce drifting kelp into their diet after that stage.
